Vintage first year (1948) Blue Aero-metric Parker 51 Demi Fountain Pen With Fine 51 - 14K Nib and Matte chrome cap design and Gold filled clip - Pearl jewel. The pen measures~5-1/16”
The Aero-metric “51” Demi began production in 1948, the design is a little longer than the Vacumatic-filling Demi and a little thinner than the standard pen. It has a nice slender fit in your hand.
The date code on the barrel is 8 indicating production year of 1948
The pen is an aero-metric fill, the filler is the 1st year style, it’s chrome plated and has quite a bit of plate wear and tarnishing, it doesn’t affect the filling of the pen at all but it is noticeable when you have to fill the pen with ink. Good thing it’s covered up by the barrel and you only see it when filling the pen. Unfortunately these fillers are hard to find in pristine condition, most do show some signs of age.
The imprint on the filler reads "Parker 51
To fill press ribbed bar firmly 6 times.
Use dry - writing Superchrome ink.
The Parker Pen Company made in U.S.A.”
This pen is in working condition, it fills and writes well. The Fine 14K nib is smooth and writes nicely. Other than I the internal filler I mentioned, this pen Cosmetically in very good condition, very clean externally. Cap, barrel, are in very good condition, no defects.
